The Opportunity

We're expanding our GIS capabilities to support Global Geologica's growing client demand across an increasing portfolio of international projects. Your expertise will be primarily focused initially on the Tennant Creek project, which requires dedicated GIS support and centralized data management. However, the scope extends beyond this—you'll provide technical leadership to our GIS & Marketing Materials business unit, including GIS and graphic design staff, while building scalable geospatial systems that support exploration programs across multiple technical disciplines and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

GIS Infrastructure & Data Management

  • Design and implement centralized geospatial data architecture with reliable team access

  • Establish digital tenement and land access databases

  • Coordinate georeferencing workflows and maintain data quality standards

  • Manage large-volume geoscience datasets across client networks

Technical Geospatial Work

  • Integrate geophysical and geological datasets into GIS platforms

  • Spatial analysis for exploration targeting and regulatory compliance mapping

  • Program of work submissions and tenement management

  • Export optimised spatial data for 3D modelling workflows

  • Remote sensing and satellite data interpretation

Client Deliverables & Reporting

  • Create publication-quality maps for technical reports and ASX releases

  • Design figures for marketing materials and client presentations

  • Support cross-functional teams with spatial visualisations

Business Unit Leadership

  • Provide technical leadership to the GIS & Marketing business unit operations

  • Mentor and coordinate GIS and Graphic Design team

  • Document GIS processes with clear "how-to" guides

  • Identify automation opportunities and system improvements

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Geoscience, Geography, GIS, or related field

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years in mining/exploration GIS roles

  • Operating mine GIS experience highly valued

  • Demonstrated mineral exploration workflows and tenement management expertise

Core Technical Skills:

  • Expert proficiency in QGIS (primary platform)

  • Strong understanding of geoscience data types and workflows

  • Geophysical and geological data integration

  • Tenement and land access management

  • Regulatory compliance mapping experience

  • Remote sensing and advanced geospatial analysis capabilities

Additional Skills:

  • ArcGIS Pro or MapInfo; spatial databases (PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server); WMS server setup

  • Python scripting (QGIS Python, GDAL) or FME Workbench for automation
