Senior Resource Geologist

Key Responsibilities:

Resource Estimation & Geological Modelling

  • Lead Mineral Resource Estimation (MRE) projects in accordance with JORC, NI 43-101, and SAMREC standards

  • Develop and maintain 3D geological and mineralisation models using Leapfrog Geo (primary platform) or equivalent software (Datamine, Micromine, Surpac)

  • Conduct geostatistical analysis including variography, grade distributions, and block modelling using Leapfrog Geo +EDGE to support robust resource estimates

Technical Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare Competent Person Reports, technical disclosures, and independent geologist reports that meet international reporting codes

  • Author or contribute to technical sections for feasibility studies, due diligence reviews, and NI 43-101/JORC-compliant reports

  • Ensure all deliverables meet rigorous QA/QC standards and regulatory requirements

Collaboration & Value Delivery

  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams including exploration geologists, mine planners, GIS specialists, and graphic designers to produce actionable insights and visually compelling deliverables

  • Support mine planning and operations teams through resource reconciliation, grade control, and optimization strategies

  • Translate complex geological data into clear, client-ready presentations, maps, and 3D visualizations

Mentorship & Knowledge Development

  • Contribute to Global Geologica's graduate training program, helping develop the next generation of resource geologists

  • Document processes and workflows in standardized formats to support team efficiency and knowledge transfer

  • Share technical expertise across project teams to elevate overall capability

Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or Geological Engineering (master's preferred)

  • 10–15 years of progressive experience in mineral resource modelling and estimation

  • Recognized Competent Person/Qualified Person credentials—preferably through AIG (FAIG/MAIG) or AusIMM (FAusIMM/MAusIMM) membership—with authority to sign mineral resource reports under international codes (JORC 2012/JORC 2024, NI 43-101, SAMREC, S-K 1300 and other similar reports under the Committee for Mineral Reserves International Reporting Standards (CRIRSCO).

  • Demonstrated track record preparing mineral resource estimates for major metal commodities including copper, gold, silver, nickel, or zinc across multiple deposit types (porphyry, epithermal, skarn, VMS, laterite, or sediment-hosted)

  • Demonstrated experience preparing, peer-reviewing and auditing Competent Person/Qualified Person reports

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Leapfrog Geo and EDGE (strongly preferred) or equivalent platforms (Datamine, Micromine, Gemcom, Surpac)

  • Strong command of geostatistics, variography, estimation techniques, and resource classification

  • Experience managing geological databases, drill data validation, and QA/QC protocols

  • Familiarity with international reporting standards (JORC Code 2012/2024, NI 43-101, SAMREC, S-K 1300)
